Getting Started Guide for Carrier Admins

This article helps Carriers understand the basics and learn how to get started.

Welcome to HealthSherpa! This guide will help you get oriented with your White Label and the Carrier Admin Dashboard. Whether you're new to the platform or picking it up again after some time, you'll find everything you need here to get up and running quickly.


What Is a White Label?

Your HealthSherpa White Label is a fully branded single-carrier shopping and enrollment site, a "walled garden", that displays only your plans to consumers and agents. It powers the entire ACA enrollment journey:

  • Eligibility screening and plan shopping

  • Application submission and enrollment

  • Premium payment links

  • Post-enrollment follow-up (SEP documentation, SVI resolution)

  • Annual renewals

Consumers and agents access your White Label through a custom URL, typically in the format: https://www.healthsherpa.com/?_agent_id=[your-carrier-slug]

Note: Your carrier slug is the unique identifier assigned to your organization during onboarding (e.g., centene, uhc). If you're unsure of your slug, contact your HealthSherpa Account Manager.


Accessing the Carrier Admin Dashboard

The Carrier Admin Dashboard is your centralized hub for managing your White Label. You can access it at:

  1. Navigate to your dashboard URL above.

  2. Sign in with your carrier admin credentials. If you haven't received your login credentials, reach out to your HealthSherpa Account Manager.

  3. Upon logging in, you'll land on the Overview tab of the White Label section.

Note: If you're signing in for the first time, you may be prompted to set up two-factor authentication (2FA). This can be managed at any time under General Settings → Settings.


A Tour of Your Dashboard

The Carrier Admin Dashboard is organized into four main sections, accessible from the left-hand navigation. The sections available to you depend on your user role and your carrier's specific configuration.

White Label

This is the primary workspace for managing your on-exchange business. It includes the following tabs:

  • Overview: View key performance metrics (Enrollments, Leads, Gross Annual Premium) and download reports. You can filter by day, week, or month. Available exports include: Leads, Enrollments, Follow-ups, and Off-Exchange Applications (if applicable).

  • On-Ex Applications: View and search all on-exchange applications submitted through your White Label. Filter by state, document status, or payment status. Click any applicant's name to view their full Client Dashboard.

  • Agents: Manage the agents associated with your White Label. You can add new agents, search by name or NPN, view agent details, disable/re-enable accounts, and reset passwords.

  • Agencies: View agencies associated with your agent accounts, including agency owner, NPN, join code, and enrollment totals.

  • Branding: Customize your White Label's look and feel. See the Branding section below for full details.

  • Agent Performance: Visual report of agent performance and trend data for enrollment volume down to the county level.

Off-Exchange (if enabled)

This section only appears if your carrier has off-exchange enabled. It includes:

  • Off-Exchange Apps: View all off-exchange applications submitted, across both your White Label and the HealthSherpa Marketplace. Indicates the submission channel for each application.

  • Off-exchange plans: View which health insurance plans are available for off-exchange enrollment in each plan year.

  • Off-Exchange Configuration: Review your SEP rules, test the effective date calculator, and see your supported states and configurations.

  • Attestations: Manage off-exchange attestation documents.

If you have any interest in being included in the largest Off Exchange marketplace distribution channel available please reach out to your Account Manager.

Marketplace (Pulse)

Marketplace gives you visibility into how your plans are performing on the broader HealthSherpa Marketplace. It includes:

  • Pulse: View enrollment share relative to other carriers in the marketplace down to the county service area (Market Share, Total Enrollments, Enrollment Details) with downloadable reports. You can set your date range and filter by state or county, and set your view by day, week, or month.

  • Performance: Visual report of carrier key performance indicators & trend data for enrollment volume and market share

Note: Marketplace Pulse reflects healthsherpa.com marketplace enrollments only, not enrollments submitted through your White Label.

General Settings

This section (Admin-only) gives you access to account-level configuration:

  • Payment Redirects: View the payment portal URLs configured for each of your HIOS IDs.

  • User Roles: View and manage the roles assigned to your carrier admin users.

  • Plan Loading: View and upload SERFF plan files (if self-service plan loading is enabled for your account).

  • State Configurations: View state-level configurations for your White Label.

Note: Some features are only functional based on designated solutions enabled. Ex: Payment Redirects are only visible if payment redirects are set up directly with HealthSherpa.

  • Account access issues contact your Account Manager to reset credentials or adjust user roles.

  • Technical issues with the White Label or integrations, your Account Manager can open a support ticket on your behalf.

  • Article suggestions or corrections, contact your Account Manager to ensure HealthSherpa articles are relevant and aligned with your experience.
